Frequently Asked Questions
Who? What? When? Where?
It’s me, making donuts, on Saturday morning in Mt. Airy, Philly. I handmake cake-style donuts with a few different glazes and toppings. Pre-orders are open during the week, with delivery on Saturday morning.
Why?
Because, somehow, our otherwise incredible neighborhood is a donut desert. Sure, there’s a location of the big guys nearby, but Northwest Philadelphians deserve better. Good Stuff aims to be the oasis for those wandering through the wilderness.
How does this work?
Every Tuesday at 10AM, I’ll open up pre-orders right here. From then until 5PM on Friday, you’ll be able to pre-order (a minimum of three) donuts to be dropped off at your door between 8 and 9AM EDT (Eating Donuts Time) Saturday.
Is my house in Good Stuff’s delivery zone?
Right now, the Good Stuff circle is small: just Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill, or the 19118 and 19119 area codes. My hope would be to expand that at some point, but it’s just one guy over here - selling, making, packaging and dropping off all the orders. Maybe that will change in the future.
Why do I have to pre-order?
Mostly to eliminate waste. It’s better for all parties if I’m only making as many donuts that get ordered, with as little surplus as possible. This way, you’ll know exactly what and when you’re getting it, each time you order.
Can I pick the donuts up instead?
Unfortunately no, not for now. But if you’re outside the delivery zone, make a friend in our neighborhood. We’re very nice!
Why is this more expensive than the chain stores?
One word: scale. We’re not supported by any corporate structure, have exactly one employee (me), and aren’t dumping thousands of previously-frozen dough rings in a Mega Fryer 5000 for the drive-thru masses. Good Stuff is making quality, small-batch donuts that have prices comparable to other independent donut shops in Philly.
Where do you get your ingredients?
If you’re in the delivery zone, probably the same place you get yours. The ACME in Mt. Airy. The farmer’s market in Chestnut Hill. The Trader Joe’s in Abington. The Costco in Montgomeryville.
Can I contact Good Stuff?
Please do! Email me at hello@goodstuffdonuts.com. I welcome any and all feedback.
